Change scenario difficulty?

Unread postby Acela944 » Sun Jun 22, 2014 10:01 pm

Hi,
I'm making a scenario on Railworks 3 Train Simulator 2012. For some reason, I cannot navigate my way on how to change the difficulty. Can someone quick run that up on how to do that? That would be great, thanks!

You should upgrade to TS 2014 already, you might be able to get some help that way. Been 2 years since we had TS 2012, I don't remember where everything is.

I can't recall how we did that in 2012 either, but here's how it's done in TS2014:

Open the scenario for editing. Before clicking anywhere, slide your mouse pointer over the scenario marker and then click on the edge of the scenario information fly-out at the top-right of the screen. When the flyout flies out, click its pushpin to keep it open. Among the options, look for the one labeled °Difficulty" and type in a different number.

2012? 2012?? Did we even have the scenario timetable editor then? !*don-know!*

It was done the same way back then and remember

1 = easy
2 = medium
3 = Hard
4 = Very Hard

there is nothing higher than 4

AND it does not change the difficulty of the scenario, only labels it according to the author of the scenario.

But you should connect to steam and update your game, your way behind the times.

Okay,
Well I need to somehow know how to change difficulties. At least by explaining how to do that by editing the scenario file by text editor in the Program Folder at least. Because I can't throw some cash into Train Simulator 2014 since I cannot afford it, and I got 2012 as a gift. Especially the fact the new versions release every year, which makes Steam obsolete for previous versions.
Oh and Train Simulator 2012 came out just a couple years ago, it came out after Windows 7, not old. I can understand if Trainz UTC (2001) is old and that nobody can help me with that.

If you have 2012 then all you do is connect to Steam and get the update to 2014 for free. All the updates have been for free. You have it installed so you must have used STeam to activate it at one time, unless you do not have a legitimate copy.

Everything changed in 2013 and then again in 2014, they gave us a lot of new tools and got rid of the old ways. Making a scenario in 2014 and 2013 is completely different than 2012. Then there are all the other updates that come with 2014.
