Soundtrack driving me nuts|

Help! !*hp*! !*hp*! !*hp*!

Those clever folks at RSC have lately added a soundtrack to TS2014. I mean that "music" (using the term very loosely) that monotonously moans away while I'm making menu choices, etc. !*hp*! !*hp*! !*hp*! !*hp*!

Please tell me there's some easy way to gag it (such as pressing ESC to get rid of the equally annoying °overture° accompanied by unnecessary images).

I shout again, Help! !*hp*! !*hp*! !*hp*!

Go to Settings -> Audio and set the "Background Music" setting to off.

Somebody probably has them in a old version of RW. This is like the IRS e-mails. They are probably recoverable. Anybody know off hand what this gizmot is called?

The funeral dirge is Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\Audio\UI_FrontEndLoop.wav

Replace with any .wav or .dav., or change the reference in Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\UIAudioControl.proxyxml.

Krellnut's Wagons sound pack v3 comes with a replacement, it is a SD40-2 emgine sound I think.

And that's all I really wanted or needed to know. Thanks CrimsonKing!

That's not an option for me. I don't know if I'm the only one having this problem: about 25% of times I have no sound at all in TS2014. Only way around it is to exit and restart the game.
When I get to the main menu, if I have no music I know straight away the sound isn't working. If I turned off the music, I would have to wait until the route and scenario have finished loading.
So I just used Krellnut's replacement for the music.

Enough already! One useful and appropriate answer to my question + lots of superfluous chatter. Would that serve as a definition of an on-line forum? !**conf**!

I'll post as much superfluous chatter as I feel like.

Gripe away. Griping here is different than griping over there. They get mean. We stay lean.
