Today I purchased the Amtrak P42 add-on over at Steam, yet I noticed in my RSC folder for the P42Pack01 that I only have 2 files (Blueprints.pak and P42Pack01Assets.ap

Why is there no GeoPcDx file? i need the GX_P42_Amtk40th.GeoPcDx to get the new Veterans Unit repaint to work and its not there!

You gotta unpack the ap file. To make it short, rename P42Pack01Assets.ap to P42Pack01Assets.zip or P42Pack01Assets.rar (if you use WinRAR for your stuff) and then look for the file inside just like you used to before Dovetail introduced their new file system.

Why do you need to do that? It works fine either way.

No, it doesn't. (I tried it just for the heck of it). The files can only be unpacked, or .ap files. Buzz may have been confused by Kevin's Post, it is kind of a long way to do things.

I was confused. What's new. I forgot about the renaming of the .ap file. If you use 7zip you can open the ap file without renaming it. It will extract directly.

I always send my AP files to a compressed zip file then unzip it with 7zip. When it unpacks every thing then i add all the default Folders (audio, Rail Network, Rail Vehicles, ETC) to the normal location.

You can do the same thing with 7zip. It just unpacks them in the folder outside of the .ap.
