Auto-Numbering Car Number Location

Can the location of an auto-numbering freight car number be edited to move its position in a re-paint? Or is it permanently set in the .GeoPcDx for the car design? I have several Kuju Cabooses that have a car number that obscures the railroad slogan logo on the car sides. I would love to relocate the auto-number out of the way to give some "white space" between the logo and the car number.

Also, is it possible to add auto-numbering to a freight car re-paint that has a permanent car number as a part of the the DDS texture?

I would like to remove the permanent number from the car side and ends in the DDS using a Paint Program and substitute an auto-number in the same position to generate a series of the same car with several different car numbers.
