Hi, i have problems with Krellnut wagon sound v3. I installed it more time, but I have the same problem: i hear wagon sounds only in external view. If I'm in cab view i do not hear wagon sounds of train that cross me. Them are silent. Can you help me? I use Marias Pass route and consist with Marias Pass freight. Thanks.

The sounds are set only to hear outside. If they were set to hear in and out, you would hear the cars your pulling in the cab, which wouldn't happen in real life. But I never thought of the scenario you just presented. But if you want to set them to hear both in and out, with a little editing on the xml your using will fix it.

The game does not allow this.
If you modified the game so that you hear the incoming wagons, you would also hear your own wagons all the time.

The way to get around this is to set it to 'Both', and make a curve for 'ListenerDistanceSquared' to make them go silent after x amount of meters.

AH, yes of course.
Shows I don't know the first thing about sounds!

Without Krellnut sound, using default wagon sounds I can hear them in all view. If i select exernal view i hear intense sound and in internal view the sounds are low and muffled. Also AP Powerhouse wagon sound pack has sounds for internal view and external.
Thanks to all.

The pack already has ListenerDistanceSquared value applied to the sounds. But if sounds were set to both you would hear the sounds in cab which is not right. I think this fellow is referring to when he's sitting in a car at a crossing as a train passes. But like I said, if he wants sounds in and out, easy to change. Or if he doesn't like them he can use something else, that works too.

Or maybe he means when an oncoming train, in a "meet", is passing you? I'll have to keep an ear open, and try and be in the cab next time I run this Sim. I'm usually out of the cab, so I hear all sounds around me.

Yes, when an oncoming train, in a "meet", is passing me. Sorry for my English.
If I stopped in a station and in front of me is coming other train, i do not hear its sound (except loco). After loco is passed, i get only silence. If i set external view i hear its wagons sound.

Why do I have to click each Route for the sounds to work? Also has anybody had any problems with the install? After you run the exe file? What dose it mean by when it said here?As an alternative, you can copy the “Railworks” folder in this install package to your Railworks install. This folder is usually located in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\”. Overwrite the Railworks folder when prompted to do so by Windows
I am a little foggy on the above info I had pasted

1) because that's how it works.
2) Windows may ask you if the program installed correctly, so reinstall it. No big deal.

It may be loco dependent as well. I do hear the passing trains slightly with Krellnut's sounds, but not all the time. Could it also have something to do with the particular loco's cab occlusion file settings?
Just for the record: When I was riding a Amtrak Capitol Corridor train last September, I couldn't hear much at all in the cab car. That included passing freights and the bell. The horn was audible, but very muffled.

Like I said, post the xml your using for my pack, and I'll set it both for you.
