Four years of stuff gone! I just purchased the pacific surfliner and noticed it left a ready to install menu on my screen and after clicking ok I received a little msg "you my watch the progress of the down load from your steam account" HUH??? Ok?? So i immediately go and check my railworks folder and its EMPTY!!!! WHAT THE HELL!!!! All gone Assets Gone! Everything gone !! You got to be kidding me STEAM

I just bought the Steam edition for the London-Faversham and Hamburg-Hannover routes, and I think the same thing is happening to me. It appears to be downloading TS2014 all over again, as if it weren't already in the library (it won't let me verify the game files). Luckily, I moved my source folder to a safe place before I started!

Yep, cleared it all out!!!

Never cleared the folder out before, even when I have reinstalled before.

All my 3rd party stuff (including Smokebox) is still there, but everything in the railworks root folder, the executables and so on, got deleted. I'll have to wait 4 to 5 hours before I can continue building the FEF-3 in the Asset Editor, seeing as I've lost the flippin' Asset Editor (temporarily).

I'll let everybody know if it all returns (assets and routs) that weren't on steam in about 1hr .. I'm at 94 percent on the re-download

Hmm, that's strange, I bough both of those (The TS2014 Steam Version for the Hamburg route) and it doesn't seem to have deleted anything here...

Picked up both the Steam edition and Pacific Surfliner without issues on my side. All third party assets and mods are all also intact.

I'd bought PS just before, and didn't have any problems with it at all. The problem occurred when I bought the Steam edition and clicked on Install. Perhaps that was the error. Maybe I shouldn't have hit Install.

I bought stuff yesterday, the 29th, and had no problem.

I bought shortly after release and the install did just what the OP said - everything was wiped out. Fortunately, noting was touched in the source folder, and I had made several backups of critical items. I informed RSC, but it appears nothing's been done to address the issue. Odd that it happens with some and not others, however.

Confirmed, this just happened to me after buying the PS route on sale.
Clicked on install and it started downloading TS2014.
Clicked on the "X" icon, thinking it would stop the install, stupid me, instead it uninstalled TS2014.
It looks like it did not remove any 3rd-party content.
I started the install again and went to bed.
This morning it's finished installing.

Yeah, that's what I did too

Everything back to normal, I lost no content except my mods, which I reapplied with a batch file as usual.
Even my green ticks are still there, and my own scenarios.

That's a relief! My download will be finished in about half an hour.

Based on my experience (just bought Pacific Surfliner), you should not press the install button.

The route downloaded and installed for me automatically and my Steam folder is intact.
