Another thing:

There are no speed limit signs besides the tracks.
However, I've read somewhere that spped limit signs are mounted on the cantenary poles on the NEC.
Olease fix that for people who don't want to the F4 HUD to be on all the time (and please also warning speed limit signs ahead of the actual speed limit sign).

Actually, in real life, there are no speed limit signs either. The ones that might be there likely stem from a union dispute, but are probably inaccurate anyways.

So, how do they know the limits then? Yes, after some time the engineers will know where it drops, but not always.
I guess it's submitted by the cab-signalling? But the RW version of it lets you now when it's already too "late". !*don-know!*

That's one of my grips with the cab signalling with the NEC. It (at least to my knowledge) should show the next signal and speed limit the moment you drop the closest signal or go past the closest speed limit. The RW version seems to lag behind until you're going 100 into a 80, hehe.

Engineers are required to be qualified on the route meaning knowing every milepost, speed limit, signal, and lots of other stuff on their route. So yes, they should always know where it drops.
While the track and signal speeds are submitted by cab-signaling, there's no upcoming speed indicator, it only displays signal and speed for the section of track the train is already in.

Now that TS 2012 has taken over...What are the problems found. Heck, I can't even get 5 miles down the line, before I lose my train!! This was one of my favorites...and with all the other problems that seem to be going on, I figured I'd kick this one to the top. I have went into the editor, and check the boxes, but it still seems to have a lot of problems. There seems to bee some big "bumps" in the track leaving NYC...the terminal..the tunnel, and out in the NJ Meadowlands... Any word on when this, or any other problems might be patched?

Thanks,

Galen

Hopefully soon. The NEC was going to the the first route they updated for TS2012, so I'd expect something within a month. However, it seems they have their hands full with fixing TS2012 itself, as one member of their team indicated elsewhere, they're working through the weekend. Regardless of what they do, they've done a good, hard job and I'm very thankful for all they do even if their finished product needs some tweaking to make work right :D

Well, I noticed that a very few of the team members have posted since the release. I, for one, am a little upset. I started messing with RW2 about 3 weeks ago. I have placed a considerable amount of cash in DLC and it worked great until this upgrade to TS 2012. I love the PRR route, but I find that it is mostly unplayable, because FPS makes it VERY unrealistic. I hope corrections are forth coming soon. I also hope that they stick to their comments about being the RW2 hardware standards, since I do not see me spending hundreds of dollars in upgrades, to play a game, in which I do for a living daily. As a side note:, the airbrake system is totally incorrect. On Horseshoe Curve, when exiting Gallitzin Tunnel and proceeding downgrade, I stretched the train, took a 10 psi service reduction, and the train derailed...hmmmm go figure. Just my thoughts.

I figure the team members were working many long nights before the release, so it doesn't surprise me that they get some time off to catch up on sleep. Yeah, there are bugs, and I expect that on Monday they will start work on them.

I had to turn off TSX and set everything to the lowest level before I could even begin to play the PRR route. In my case the limiting factor was the video card, and I replaced it with a mid-level (GTX 460 - $150) card which makes the route pretty playable. Some suggested settings are here:

I see they are getting ready to introduce the update to the NEC. Does anyone know what exactly that they are planning to do. This route is running great for me, since the first patch. I would hate to see it ruined, for rglowing lights and rain drops on the windows. Maybe they have been testing with lower end computers, such as the ones listed in the TS 2012 thread. Just my ramblings.
