Maybe I'll try re-installing RW decal. How do I make sure I'm running the proper version of Google earth? I Installed the right version, but maybe it updated automatically by accident.

I think I have version 2 from 1991.

I've used 6.1. I had to track it down because RW_Decal wouldn't work on newer versions. It's probably been fixed now. I think your problem is somewhere within RW_Decal.

Would it hurt anything to upgrade GE? I sent Jim an e-mail, asking him about the problem, but no response. (2 days ago.)

It wouldn't hurt. Go for the latest version and see if it works. If not, there's a link to 6.1 which I know works somewhere in the forum or I have a copy of it on my HD.

I'll try! I'll probably try in the A.M.

V 7.0 didn't work. Had to track down 6.1. Will try it out soon.

Only, about a half mile of track laid so far. The elevation the track is on was made with the Snap terrain to track tool. Maybe soon, I'll be able to get it closer to the ground.

!*hp*! I'm getting mad. As I'm placing decals, I find that the decals have the track running right over the top of 2 mountains, and then off the "cliff" that was created by the limits of my terrain data. Something here is wrong with the way the dacal v.s. dem data is being interpreted. !*hp*!

Now this problem I have had. It's to do with your starting coordinates. Did you import the dem with redem or srtm?

Ah right unfortunately I've not used that way to import dem so I don't know what's involved.
When I had the problem it was with redem and I'd put in the wrong coordinates for the start of my route so the dem didn't match the decals.

I'm going to give redem a shot.
