Jay - link please. I take it NERR does not in this case stand for Nashville & Eastern Rail Road.

Well, Tori, the 3 truck Shay couldn't make it past that switch either. So I guess it's up to you. Just waiting until you have the time to fix it. !*hp*! Meanwhile I'll go explore other parts of your route.

Please tell me how to do this.

With out getting into too much detail. I just adjusted the track gradient here an there to take some of the peaks out of it. Then adjusted the terrain to match. I wouldn't mess with it unless you are comfortable in track and route editing. Always make a backup/copy of any route you decide to edit.
For controlling a steam engine down hill. Use the engine. I mean run you reverser in the opposite direction that you're going. If you're going forward down hill put it in reverse and use the throttle wisely so as not to slip the drives. Use in combo with brakes. Sorta acts like a dyno brake. With practice you'll find a sweet spot and can go down grades in some places with no brakes applied. Keep in mind it uses energy just like you were going uphill. Needs food and drink. *!!wink!!*

Running a Vulcan double-header again. Love it. No problems with those switchback switches and they respond extremely well to the controls. nice easy fine adjustments to reverser and regulator work nicely. This time hauled up 3 empty BLC skeleton log cars along with a rustic 36ft boxcar (blt 1916). Spotted the boxcar (filled with tools, supplies, food, etc) under a tree at the little spur between logging camps. Paid close attention to steam generation rate vs. usage. Sure have more water now than I did here last time. having fun. Looks like this pair are going to be my primary backwoods lumber locos for now.Thinking of doing a re-paint of the Vulcan(s) into BLC colors (livery). Don't know how yet. Any tips? My understanding now is these are actually British locos although I had thought they were american. Regardless Dick includes them in his mega logging pak.
