Open Control Panel, go to User Accounts, then find on the left, "Change User Account Settings", click on that, and turn the darn thing to off. Don't need that crap if you are the only one using that PC.

Now, right click on the Desktop icon for RW, choose "run as administrator". Let's see if that works for you.

You mean where it says, 'Change user account control setting' And then put it onto never notify?

Done that, however the only thing I can run as administrator is steam, and it still doesn't work, it's such a shame because I was really looking forward to playing this excellent game. Is there anymore advice you can offer? !*don-know!*

Before you verified the game cache did you rename or remove the Railworks.exe? Perhaps the file is corrupt, but Steam does not see it as needing to be replaced.

Where could I locate that file if it was there? Can't seem to find it in my steam files.

So on a default install on a x64 system you will find it here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\

If you happen to move your Steam folder (some people like it on a dedicated drive) then you will need to adjust that path as needed.
