For the benefit of future readers with the same problem who find this thread after a search, could you post the solution?

HOLD THE PHONE! ! ! I figured out what I was doing wrong! Now with some decent editing I might be able to do this after all! See my hopper in it's earliest repaint stage and my hometown station. Thanks to everyone for your comments and suggestions! ! !

I was using the wrong format when transferring the .DDS texture file back to TgPcDx. I was saving it as a DXT1 and it should have been a DXT3. I'm still having a few issues but I am still learning. A whole lot happier though! ! !
