Bob,

Thanks for your observations concerning the missing markers. I never made that connection. I, too, have recently uploaded my first set of scenarios. That was quite a learning experience!

I hope I’m not begging the question here, but I still have a mystery to solve. AntonL above comments “…impressed with the thunderbolds, the lightning and the rain.” The weather that I see when editing a fresh copy of “Middy Duties” in RW is a clear day. The RW scenario editor shows the weather set to “0.Default”. RW_Tools Scenario Editor shows the “Weather Blueprint” set to “weather\severestorm.xml”. When I try to save the edited scenario (even without making any changes), I get the error message “Weather Blueprint entered does not exist in the folder shown.” I cannot find any “severestorm” option offered in the RW editor. Is this weather pattern something that you downloaded and added to RW?

Thanks again.

Bob,

After posting the above, I discovered the following lines from your "readme" file included with the Midday Duties scenario:

Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\railvehicles\freight\CABOOSE\boxcar\def2\wagon\box_car_def2.bin
Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\railvehicles\freight\CABOOSE\boxcar\default\wagon\box_car.bin

This is the same thing that I see in my RW_Tools Scenario Editor. The two types of boxcars cannot be found because there are no "boxcar" folders in the "caboose" folder. CABOOSE is extraneous. I don't know how it happened when your RW editor saved your work, but it is an error in the published scenario.

Please don't take my remarks as being critical. I'm not "fault finding". I would certainly appreciate it if someone found problems with my submissions and informed me about them.

Bob,

I found the problem! If you go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Freight\Caboose on your computer, you will find that the "boxcar" folder has been COPIED, (not moved) into it. Since the two boxcar folders are redundant, you can delete the one in "caboose". Since the three boxcars on Rigby 57 were taken from the redundant "boxcar" folder in "caboose", you will have to re-populate track 57 in the RW Editor. Don't forget to re-number the three cars! I simulated the above on my system and it worked. The weather error produced in RW_Tools went away. I still have clear blue skys, though!

I do not mind your comments I actually appreciate them so i can learn as well.

Thanks for you help i will look into it as soon as possible and get a new version out.

as far as the weather i downloaded the senerio "Late Logs" for the same route and i had the severe weather from that so i assumed (not a good idea i guess) that it was default to the game sorry I do not know where to get it. but i will keep an eye out for it and post a link to it if i can

OK, reworked the scenario and uploaded it to RWA and put it on my server as well. You can find it here:

Hope this one works better, it should. Read the Read me files first though please.

The good news is that the boxcar problem is fixed. The bad news is that I got so confused trying to get the two new scenarios to run that I had to tabulate what I found as follows:

I installed “portland_terminal_midday_duties”
• RW_Tools lists it as “Midday Duties” with a file name of 92751ef3-1584-48f9-9bde-5ba9d20a82d1
• RW_Tools gives the weather as “RailSimulatorUS\weather\us weather 01.xml
• RW Package Manager gives “portland_terminal_midday-duties”
• RW “Drive by Route” gives simply “Midday Duties”.
• When run, the weather is clear blue sky.

I un-installed “portland_terminal_midday_duties” and installed portland_terminal_midday_duties_v.2_ss
• RW_Tools lists it as “Midday Duties” the same as before with a file name of 92751ef3-1584-48f9-9bde-5ba9d20a82d1 Also the same as before.
• RW_Tools gives the weather as “RailSimulatorUS\weather\severestorm.xml”. When I “Save Changes to Scenario”, I get the error “Weather Blueprint entered does not exist in the folder shown.”
• RW Package Manager gives “portland_terminal_midday_duties_v.2_ss”
• RW “Drive by Route” gives simply “Midday Duties”, the same as before.
• When run, the weather is clear blue sky, the same as before.

Without un-installing the above “portland_terminal_midday_duties_v.2_ss” I installed “portland_terminal_midday_duties”.
• RW_Tools lists only one “Midday Duties” with a file name of 92751ef3-1584-48f9-9bde-5ba9d20a82d1 Again, the same as before.
• RW_Tools gives the weather as “weather\us weather 01.xml
• RW Package Manager LOSTS BOTH SCENARIOS.
• RW “Drive by Route” gives only one “Midday Duties”, even though both scenarios are installed.
• When run, the weather is clear blue sky.

If you think the above is confusing, you’re absolutely correct. I’m totally baffled. It would appear that one scenario is overwriting the other.

If I could acquire a copy of “severe weather”, I would simply install only v2 and it would probably be fine. Can you tell me exactly where you got it? I can’t even find the scenario "Late Logs" that you mentioned above.

In spite of all the confusion, I would like to say how much I enjoyed the meet at the south end of Rigby Yard. That passenger train caught me totally by surprise. I’m not accustomed to being passed on the right, especially by a passenger train! Fortunately, I ran this scenario before seeing the new pictures that you included in the download package.

You can find late logs here:
http://trainsim.com/kdl.php?fid=26563

yes that is all confusing wow. sorry i may have made things worse.

I am not sure if i can add severe weather to the pack when i go into assets when creating the rwp file i can choose it and all but it is dimmed out and i do not know if that means it is protected.
If anyone can tell me for sure it is OK to pack it i will but unfortunately that means another upload of the scenarios and i would hate to have to do that to Hawk.

I downloaded and installed "[PTM] Late Logs v2" It, too, is looking for Kuju RailSimulatorUS weather\severestorm.xml. When I run it, I don't get the severe storm, just like in "Midday Duties". In the above posts, I have refered to this weather file as "severe weather" when I meant "severe storm".

Can you tell us where you obtained this "severe storm"?

I never downloaded it separate and the first i ever seen it was in that scenario so i assumed it came with that.
I am still searching for it though
sorry it is taking this long I see it is a very hard thing to find. at least if you are looking for it :)

Bob,

Can you tell me what you see in the following folder?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Source
The name of the "Developer" folder should tell us who created it.
See "Weather Blueprint Location" at: http://www.railsimdownloads.com/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=Weather+Pattern+Blueprints

I just replaced it with \Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\Weather\RW_Stormy_HeavyRain.bin as suggested in a previous post and it works well. But I would sure like to have this severe Storm, it sounds awesome. Robbit, it probably came with another package that you installed on your computer.

This thread was very helpful for me because I learned how to fix a scenario and how to replace rolling stock.

I am glad you have found this thread helpful hope you enjoyed the scenario.
I found Severestorm.bin twice on my computer both under Kuju one under railsimulator and the other under railsimulatorUS and both in the weather directory
