If anyone needs the fixed BPE then email support, hate to hold any creative folks up.

Thanks for the file, just got it this morning.

The new file doesn't work either. Get a message that the editor can't find the igs.

Moved the old RailSimulator from my old computer to create assets.

Will wait for update.

The screenshots doesn't work in the 117 update.

Did you double check the path to the igs to make sure you have it entered correctly in the blueprint?

Two things to check,

1. The paths are still good in the BE. If the BE crashes then the paths change.
2. That you haven't messed up the .igs file somehow. Try a (newly created) simple box and see if that works.

BE=Blueprint Editor

BE=Blueprint Editor

It is the same .igs that worked in RailSimulator.

At least I have one simulator that works: Trainz 2009 on Steam, the first one I bought

They screwed up at Auran/N3V when they updated the Steam09 about a month ago and it works better than any of the simulators I have. The other versions of Trainz are really messed up.

Hate being a beta tester. I will come back later and see if any of this stuff works.

How about supplying a screenshot showing the igs path in the blueprint editor as well as the log window at the bottom of the editor that specifies that it can not find the igs file.

Blueprint/Asset Editor Fubar

Unread postby SMMDigital » Wed May 25, 2011 6:28 am

This issue has already been brought up, both here and at The Other Forum, but i've not seen any talk of a resolution to this issue, either from end-users or RSC.

I allowed Steam to update my Railworks installation to the latest version (117 something other or 'nother), and now my Asset Editor will not export an IGS file created with 3DCanvas 8.2. I fill out the scenery blueprint, go to preview, and I get the previously mentioned "Incorrect Parameter" error. When I look at the IGS path, I notice that path has been changed from my Source/// folder to the Shapeviewer folder and a "(00)" has been added in front of the IGS filename. Changing this to the correct path does not work, as upon hitting the preview key the name reverts back to the Shapeviewer folder.

I've tried all of the normal "fixes" such as deleting files and verfiy cache, but to no avail. Reverting to the previous version of the Asset Editor was the only way to get the IGS exporter working again.

Any new information on this problem?

I just keep copying the Blueprint editor from the old version of RW and it works fine until they update again.

I'm guessing the only answer to that right now is at the link I posted in the post above yours.

I'll just wait and hope for the best. It will take a long while to finish my set of apartments anyways. So no need to be in a rush. When I finish this one I'll just start on a new one to add to the package.

At least my 3D Crafter is finally working again.

Tried to try Blender but can not handle it. I'm better off with sketchup and Blender.

Any news when this update will be available.

I found out how to get past the one problem about the editor not opening. But now when it tries to convert the textures successfully I get the Parameters Is Incorrect problem.

If Railworks is to survive with the freeware creators that want to release freeware the update is going to have to be released to fix this problem.
