Problem with Logmate

Unread postby Chacal » Sat Mar 16, 2013 1:04 pm

Recently I found on UKTrainSim the instructions for running RW with Logmate.
Logmate is a tool whcih shows RW debug messages while RW is running.
In the past, RW updates have randomly broken or fixed launch options. For example, the -skipIntros options no longer works in RW4.

The most recent instructions say to add these launch options to RW :
-LogMate -SetLogFilters="All"

However this doesn't work for me: Logmate crashes even before RW starts. I get the standard "This program has stopped working" Windows message.

Has anyone here been using Logmate successfully in the past?
If so, is it still working for you?

Could anyone try starting RW with the above launch options and tell me if it works?
Thanks.

i have a laptop and a desktop, both are 64bit and run Windows 7 Home Edition. On the laptop, logmate crashes, but on the desktop it works fine. I have no idea why!

"Ghostery" will not allow Logmate to run on my main PC, sorry, not much help. !*don-know!*

Why would a browser plugin interfere with LogMate?

Because, Ghostery considers Log Mate a tracker, which it basically is. I have Ghostery set to block all but "24/7". Which I need to display images on some websites, that I trust. Ghostery is a very powerful tool. !!*ok*!!

Hmm... That is odd. Then again its probably browser specific. Chrome should sandbox it, so I wouldn't expect it to interfere with outside processes.

If I can remember I will try it out tonight. I love Ghostery, but I expect it to work in the browser, not outside the browser.

Well, I don't know Chrome, I have been using Firefox for years now. Can't stand IE. Ghostery will block any trackers you tell it to, and it will find them all. It was amazing, the first time I used it, how many trackers it found. This site actually has no trackers. !*salute*! I mean, RWA. !!*ok*!! Well, yes, any tool like this will only work when you are online. Playing a game, you don't need a tool like Ghostery.
