Changing Cab View with RW tools

Unread postby Coaltrain1 » Tue Jan 01, 2013 12:26 pm

Could someone please explain to me how to use RWTools to change a cab view. My view in the DTM Alco FA is set to far forward into the windsheild.

Without looking I presume you are looking at a .bin file. If so you need to open it with serz to convert it to a xml file. Then when you open it with notepad you can edit it. After you make the change you run it over the serz and it will change the bin file to your new settings.

No one else has mentioned Claudio Musa's RWCameraCabPosition utility, so I will give it a plug. Downloadable here: http://www.mcs-software.it/rs/RwCameraCabPosition/index.htm. This offers a relatively easy way to adjust all cab and passenger cameras without tedious file editing. It also now includes a one-click tool to restore all personal camera settings after a cache verify. A demonstration version is free, but Claudio does ask for a small donation to unlock the full version.

A great post-holiday present for the rail simmer who has everything!
