Class 67, where are you?

Unread postby OldProf » Sat Oct 27, 2012 9:39 am

Just a couple of days ago, I bought the Class 67 DLC pack from RSC, but it is thus far absent for the most part. Here are some facts:

1) It does not appear in the Collection (no real surprise, a lot of things don't).
2) In the Scenario Editor, the pack sometimes appears in the Object Set flyout and sometimes not; when it does, checking it does not cause the items it contains to appear in the Browser.
3) It does not appear in the Package Manager, but does appear in the Packager.
4) It does not appear among my purchased DLC on the Trainsim 2013 Properties tab in Steam.
5) Attempting to run any of the scenarios contained in the pack produces Rail Vehicle Not Found errors for all pack contents.
6) I tried deleting the pack's folder from my TS 2013 installation and verifying the cache: the pack was restored, but all of the above remained true.

What I'm wondering is whether anyone else has encountered this or similar problems with this pack.

Please do not use this thread to rant against RSC!!!!!!!!! I am seeking information, not useless anger.

Thanks,

Tom
It would be worth checking the "Assets" folder and see if there are any Class 67 enties there. I have a Class 67 folder with over 20 entries but I do own both Class 67 options offered by RSC. There should be a folder Class67Pack01 and in my case 02 as well. The manual should have also downloaded OK in the "Manuals" folder.
The last time I had this issue I had to carry out the dreaded "cache verification" several times (and I recommend a re-boot in between verifications) before it was fixed. It seems to be more of a steam download issue that one pertaining specifically to RSC.

Thanks, Peter, I forgot to mention that I do have the pack in the assets folder and the manual. Perhaps I should try a couple more cache verifications.

Got to ask... did you clear the cache from the tools menu?

Tom
You are lucky, I emailed RSC with a question about buttons on the XBOX, (what keystrokes do they emulate) and they thanked me for my suggestion :D and said they would pass it on to their development team. Never did get an answer!! *!rolleyes!*

They do get confused at times ... probably caused by drinking all that tea. Try sending the message again?

I'm happy and relieved to report that Class 67 is now alive and well in my TS2013 installation.

Yesterday, I received the following message from Railsimulator Support:
Thank you for contacting the Railsimulator.com customer support, your inquiry has been logged with a member of our dedicated customer support team.
The solution which was discovered last early week, has now been distributed automatically overnight via a Steam update.
On behalf of Rail Simulator, I apologise for the delay.
I would like to personally thank you for your patience and understanding, If you who had not purchased downloadable content before, I would like to assure you that this instance was an exception to the norm.

Regards

I immediately checked for the Class 67 add-on by trying to load a scenario that included it and ... there it was! Thanks to Miles Cavendish and all of the support team. !*cheers*!
