F7 Numberboard issue

Unread postby RAILSOHIO » Sat Oct 20, 2012 10:37 am

Last night I downloaded the B&O F7 res skin pack, and discovered missing number board textures. A search let me know there is a patch for the problem. But after d/l the patch,it is not fixed. My question is,did the change in files structure in 2013 mean that the new files are in the wrong place. The patch went into a folder labeled "System",and no files were overwritten in the LordMannu folder that I can see. Before I start experimenting replacing files,I want to see if there is a straight forward fix. Joe

The files I think you might be missing are the TgPcDx . The are primary number_0 thru _19. Is your path Lord Mannu/modelos/system/textures? That's where the numbers should be. I didn't have any numbers either but when I installed the patch then they showed up?

Yes System and Railvehicles are both in the modelos folder. The textures folder has all the TgPcDx files, size on disk .97 mb.

Even so,I still have the missing textures warning on the engine. I have cleared the cashe on each start up. I may do a pc re-boot next. This is puzzling. The engine looks and runs fine, otherwise.

I can't think of anything else off hand unless you got a bad D/L on the patch. I have a NP paint and a GN paint and I loaded both of them and the numbers are showing up there as well.

Well... would you be open to opening the BIN and GEO file and verifying the paths to the textures?

Thanks for the help,so far. I d/l the patch again, extracted shows the same file size as Buzz has. It does seem I dont have some of the others in the folder. (non texture) I have Assets/Lordmannu/Modelos/RailVehicles-System. The numbers 0-09 and 0-19 are in the texture folder within System.
Railvehicles contain Diesel/EMD F7/(The 4 B&O folders) and F7A_Headout The individual B&O folders each contain a texture file that only includes numbers 0-9 I hope this description helped w/o screen shots. Is it possible I am the first person to do this reskin install AFTER the update?

DO you have three files for each of the numbers in the engines files? What size is your BO_BandO folder? Mine is 13.6 mb. And I D/L this whole thing after I started talking to you.

13.6/13.7 size on disk. So the same. BO_BandO/Engine/Textures is the order Engine contains 9 files(shape, bin.etc)

i Just realized there are 2 different F7 models. I wondered my all of Great Northerners other F7 repaints installed with no problem. They are aliased to the default F7. Upon closer inspection,I like it better. I think I will just do a re skin of my own,and base it on that model/mesh. This has been too much of a headache. I appreciate all the help, though.

It is much nicer no doubt. Probably a good plan. Mad Mike has also done a lot with the Brit Kit one. Back in the RW2 days I did a few F7 repaints based on the Brit Kit model and it was pretty easy to work with also.
Good liuck. If you are successful please share.

Hey thanks. I just decided to give it a rest. No one else seemed to have this issue,or they already had it installed before the 2013 updates.
