MC&SA Scenario Problem

Unread postby ValleyBoy » Wed Jul 11, 2012 10:23 am

I am trying to run Yard work on the MCSA Part 3 but every time at start up I get a pop-up message saying "Broken Consist Long-94.738548 Lat-30.915649."
I have downloaded and installed all the required RS. I've checked the scenario with RW Tools and found no discrepancies. I have successfully completed Parts 1,2 and 4.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this snag?

Sometime cars get placed on top of each other. If you can fly to the coordinates you posted and look at the cars there see if any are over lapping.

I tried to follow your suggestion, Bob, but could not find out how to fly around with co-ordinates displayed.
I did do some flying around and discovered a loose string of 4 pulp-wood cars of which two were derailed. I deleated the string in an attempt to eliminate the problem but this only caused more errors to show up.
I'd like to solve this but perhaps its too much effort just to get one scenario working.
However, if you're willing to help further I'm certainly willing to try to learn.

I would have to try the scenario to see what is wrong. Where did it come from? I do not mind helping out at all. I am a Railworks fanatic, I love this stuff. I want you to have fun with it also, so I will help. Give me some more info.

Pull out the tab from the top center of the screen and pin it open.
You can also input the coordinates and go directly there.

One thing that sometimes works to fix broken consists is to open the scenario in the editor, don't change anything and then save it.

Bob:
The scenario is Part 3 of Yard work on the MCSA by Robert Meek. Its available freeware here at RWA in the RW2 scenario section. The search tag is robbit-Yard-Work-MCSA.

Chacal:
I don't seem to have the tabs you mentioned nor can I find any place to input the Lat & Long.

Samwolf:
I've tried your suggestion and also deleted, re-downloaded and re-installed the scenario with no change in the outcome.

It may be that the problem is a loose string of 4 pulpwood cars on the pulpwood spur in Camden Yard. Two of the cars are derailed. I don't know how to correct this. I've tried deleting the string but this only generates more errors.
I appreciate that people are willing to try to find a solution.

Just tried my version of the scenario and it loads fine. Here's an .rwp of the scenario, give it a try and let me know how it works.

You're correct in your assumption that the flatcars on the pulpwood siding are at those co-ordinates

Sorry for the issues you are having but it was written for Railworks 2 not 3. I will look into this issue and try to get it resolved for you but I can not do it right away I am busy with too many other projects right now. I will get back to you as soon as I can if you have not worked it out by then
Again I am sorry for the inconvenience but i will do my best to get it working for you.

P.S. Thanks everybody for trying to help.

Samwolf:
I installed your .rwp file and it did the trick; I now have a working version of Part 3.
Thank you for making the effort to solve my problem.

robbit:
Even though my particular problem is dealt with it seems there still remains an issue with some versions of the scenario so when you have the opportunity it might be worth while to have a look at it.
I recall seeing somewhere a small utility which could convert RW2 items into RW3 compatability. Perhaps this could have solved my problem.

Glad it worked for you.

If I recall correctly, I had edited these scenarios to get them to work for me.
