No headlights?

Unread postby mapitts » Tue Jun 19, 2012 6:17 am

Did a search and could not come up with anything that seemed to be my problem. New computer adnd back in the game so to speak. I am now capable of running with TSX on. I currently have only DLC. One of the scenerios is at night. I have no headlights that show out in front of me. On another scenerio, Race to the Summit, I noticed that the AI traffic has headlights that light up the scecery like it should. The headlights are on and when I change my screen view to the front, I can see that they are on. I even get a small "glow" of the ditch lights on the ground. Am I missing something or is ther something I need to change?

You didn't mention the name or route of the night-time scenario. If it's on a British or German route, be aware that many of their locos do not have headlights that illuminate the track ahead, like those found on most American locos. As far as I know, both cases are realistic. By the way, not all American locos can light up the tracks at night, only those that have been updated to RW3 standards. When I run British or German night scenarios, I turn off or block as much ambient light near my monitor a possible, but I still find myself squinting a lot.

I am speaking of Cajon scenerios. I have the locmotives that come as default from RW3, the Dash 9 pack, Genisis, and both SD70 packs. I have always thought that since the Germans and British railroads thought that there was not a steering wheel, there was no need for headlights.

As Tom Pallen mentioned, Dash 9 and SD70 (also GP-9 etc.) are RW2 engines packs not updated to RW3 standarts yet, therefore they don't have projecting headlights, unless you get LEP update v.2 when released !*roll-laugh*! Race to Summit is a career scenario using SD70ACe BNSF, so no headlights lighting the tracks up.
