Flat car load problem

Unread postby buzz456 » Sun Dec 18, 2011 2:09 pm

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere however here goes. I can't find any loads for any of my flat cars or container cars. When I click the box on a hopper the coal or whatever shows up but nothing on any of the flats or TOFC cars. Any ideas?

The loads are possibly from providers that are not included in your selected assets for the route or scenario. Also you should open up the bin file for the wagons in question and make sure they are coded for a container load.

I had this issue with well cars for containers, Gtrax wasn't checked in that right hand flyout in the editor. I had the well cars but no containers. There are some really nice trailers for TOFC down in the freeware section. Gimme a sec, I'll post a link.

EDIT: here you go!: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=3886 very nice work I might add! !!*ok*!!

I was in error. My TOFC do have loads. the thirty foot NP flats work also. I'll look at some of them that don't work. I'm pretty sure the G-trax if checked. It only needs it in one place right?

Yeah, should only be one check mark for Gtrax. Griphos had to find them for me when I was putting together a consist a few weeks ago for VORA. I did have to download the containers again. It's a freebie. I'll see if I can find that one for you.

OK, you need to go to the Products section, grab the double stacks: http://www.gtraxsims.com/

Dang, Rick has a really nice deal going on right now! The Northerns, the Berkshires, the GS4's all for $36? Wow! That's a whole lot of steam going on! Sweet! !!*ok*!!

I had this problem recently for the Kuju Double Stacks (which are included with the game, I think). Anyway, Kali helped me figure it out. I think that's probably what you're experiencing. The Gtrax doublestacks have G-trax at the front of their name. The Dbl-Stack cars are Kuju cars.

For some unknown reason, Steam (I guess) decided to delete about half my container texture files. These live in the Assets\Kuju\Railsimulator\RailNetwork\Interactive\Textures folder. If you have a backup, you can copy and paste all the files in this folder and the parent folder. Verifying the cache didn't work for me. Luckily I had a backup. Once you get it fixed, I'd make a copy of this Interactive folder in the RailNetwork folder just in case.

If you have all the files (449 in Interactive, 108 in Textures) and still can't get some of the cars to show loaded, that happens to me as well. It seems to happen when I add them to a scenario I've already saved with some double stack cars in them. The well cars show up, but loading them doesn't change them from empty. When I start a new scenario, I can load them. Weird. Don't have a solution for that one.

The plot thickens. No containers on G-Trax or the default ones or the Donner pass ones. Going on the hunt for the possible missing textures. Got all my TOFC cars working. No Geo's in the addon cars for the RTTX.

For starters my wife tells me I'm nuts. She may be right. !!bang!! Unloaded the G-Trax and reloaded from a fresh DL. No joy. The containers are in the same package with the cars right?

All my files appeared to be there for the default cars however I put my backup file in there to see what happened. Still have cars no loads.

I think I'm going to go drive train now........without any containers.

Something weird is going on here. The containers for the Gtrax stacks are in the d/l package. They live in the Assets\G-TraX\Trains\RailNetwork\Interactive folder. There's only three files in the Textures subfolder. I've not had this problem with the Gtrax containers. I'm thinking it's a RW issue rather than a container texture issue. But then, I really know nothing at all about this stuff. It's apain, though. I like seeing containers rather than empty well cars.

One thing to try is different cars. When some of mine wouldn't load, I noticed that others would. There's tons of them in there. Maybe some will load for you.

Is anyone else having issues with Container cars? All my other problems are pretty much resolved however the kuju and the G-Trax cars don't seem to see the containers. I have had pretty extensive communication with Rick at G-Trax and we have confirmed that all the files are in the right place. Anyone?

I ran one of the default B/SB routes earlier with a consist of containers, they were all there, except an empty well care here and there. !*don-know!*
