Cab Radio Transmissions

Unread postby miata54 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 9:33 am

I've looked in the Kuju & RSC assets folder for the file that controls the radio transmissions that you faintly hear when in the cab of a US diesel. Anybody know where it is located? I want to disable it.

Thx

I would love to know as well. It becomes really annoying the 18,000th time you hear the same recording.

It was referenced in a previous post about a week ago, but I can't remember what post it was. The post showed the file, but I don't think it identified its location.

After piecing through one folder at a time, I found it here for the F7 used by Kuju:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\F7\Cab

I also found it in the Cab folder for the ES44 but not the SD40. Maybe the SD40 aliases that file from the ES44. I just renamed the file with an extension .dat, and that eliminated it. Should be found in any US diesel's Cab folder. No more repetitive chatter.

File name is: T_Cab_Radio.dav

Hi miata54,

And.... what about the new background soundtrack (when loading, or using Scenario Editor) with those male crickets chirping loudly, !*hp*! the loco shunting (not that bad) and (this is even worst then crickets) the bell "belling". !**duh*!!

My wife has never tolerated the birds singing in the soundtrack of RW2 version, but this new background sound of RW3 who is not bearing is me. **!!bang!!**

Could you find it as well?

Thanks in advance,
Lisboa.

Will see if I can find that as well, but those sounds aren't anywhere as bothersome, at least to me, as the radio chatter.

Being not a native English guy, I don't understand nothing about what they are chatting on radio, so that doesn't bore me !*roll-laugh*! And also, my pc is not running fine with TSX on, so.... am still playing and scripting scenarios for old routes *!!wink!!* Thanks God, I working with SD40-2 (no default radio in cab, for now) :D

If you don't like the loading screen sounds, go to Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\Audio. The file is called; UIFrontEndLoop. Open up the XML, and find the section that uses that file and zero the base volume.

Thanks, Krellnut.

Instead of editing xml, I deleted that dav file, and it worked.

BTW are your awesome wagons sounds still working with RW3? I didn't tested them yet because with RW2 they were dropping my fps, and causing some stutterings, then I uninstalled the pack. As far as someone replied my problem in another thread, may be an issue with my old "SB Live!" sound card (needing an upgrade to a new modern card).

Cheers,
Lisboa.
