Big problem to solve

Unread postby jtousign » Thu Nov 16, 2023 1:34 am

ERROR.jpg
To repaint a loco I have to enter TS momentarily many times to check the progress of my work in Paint shop pro. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I've never had a problem with this before yesterday's TS update. Now every time I try to return to the game it crashes and I have to restart the game! It's a real pain. This is the message that appears when the crash occurs. I'd like to know if anyone else is having similar problems. Thanks. **!!bang!!**

According to DTG the update is the same as the beta. Does this happen when Alt tabbing out? If so try running in full screen.

Hum! Have not been active since this update, but my repaint project with the use of Photoshop and the numerous checks to TS have not been tested. I will be vigilant and keep the community informed if this problem persist.

This has been randomly happening to me for years when running the sim and alternating between other programs, such as Paintshop Pro and TS-Tools. Happens on both my laptop and desktop so I suspect it is happening to everyone under similar circumstances. Interestingly it only happens when running 64bit. I do all my route editing in 32 bit and never have an issue when switching between programs.

Reported on 2 other forums to run in Full screen borderless may solve your issue.

This error has been around for years in TSC in various versions so it is nothing new. If you do a Google search you will find lots of this error being reported and solutions. Here is one post on Steam about this error from 2015. https://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/di ... 199119383/

Check this article from DTG on TSC errors. Vertex buffer issue is in it. https://dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/sup ... or-classic

I’ve resumed texture mapping with photoshop and I’ve had no issues. !*cheers*!

First of all, thank you to everyone who responded to my call for help, it's much appreciated. Finally I managed to find a way out thanks to you, using the "Frameless Window" method. No crashes occurred using this method. But the question remains; why did this happen when I've never had this problem since I've been repainting locomotives, i.e. since October 2019? It remains a mystery to me. *!!thnx!!*

This issue showed up consistently in the beta, many comments were made about it. Now the last update made standard TSC the same as the beta. The issue was ported over.

So it's no coincidence that it appeared after the last TS update? It's really annoying !*not-ok*!

DTG is aware of this. There will be another beta update in December. Most of it will address errors. Hopefully it will address this issue.
