Issue With Textures Before/After DXTBmp

Unread postby EngineerJohn » Tue Jan 08, 2019 9:34 pm

So I've been working with Mike Calvin's old Penn Central rs11 skin, I exported the texture just fine, made my changes, and I end up with this before running DXTbmp with the import process:
1111.jpg

After it gets compiled into a DDS format, I get this:
2222.jpg

You all may have to look close to see how it becomes much more pixelated and the blending between shades becomes almost non-existant.

Ultimately this results in a very pixelated paint job in game.

Any suggestions?

...and yes I have tried reinstalling DXTbmp.

Hmmm I haven't had this issue before. If I can replicate it I will let you know.

I have had this problem before and yes it does lead to a off color and grainy paint scheme.

If I remember correctly someone told me it is a fault in the way the program exports the image when saved. Whether or not there is a fix for this, that subject was not brought to mind in our conversation.

I went back to using GIMP because of this error.
