Hi mate...

Just to let you know, I am having a similar issue. Just crashes and creates the dump file. Done the usual, cleaned and even did a complete re-install, but have just dumped that scenerio and moved onto part 2, but am still to finish that. Not seen this before, but to be honest, this is the first route I have actually had a run on the included scenerios, I usually just create a few of my own...

You are not alone... !!*ok*!!

!*cheers*!

That's nice to know!

Be that as it may I have given up on the route. Life is too short to spend hours messing around to fix something you should not have to fix in the first place.

Remember the Steam refund criteria. More then 2 hours of "play" and you are pickled.

So my advice is to anyone who buys this route new and then finds, issues - consider a refund before it's too late! Don't waste time trying to second guess the issue.

The interesting thing here is that I also got no response to official support requests, unless the automails count! Great business to be in - take the money and ignore the issues!

Have you tried contacting the authors directly? They are very nice people and I'm sure would try to help you out instead of complaining on here about DTG. They didn't make the route and probably have no clue. I haven't personally tried this scenario but I sure wouldn't throw the whole route out because of this one thing not working.

I have just successfully completed this scenario. May I suggest to the OP that he first uninstalls the route via your Steam library page by unticking the route in the items window. After unticking it wait until it says uninstalled or not installed, then tick the box to install it. If that solution dosen't work try verifying your game cache. :)

Buzz - your remark to me - " instead of complaining on here about DTG" in response to my comment "The interesting thing here is that I also got no response to official support requests unless the automails count! Great business to be in - take the money and ignore the issues!".

That was a comment, not a complaint. If I was going to complain I would do it to them. Fact remains they take the money but do not respond to their support mails (for which they provide a process).

Is it inappropriate on this forum to raise any comment about DTG if it is not positive?

--------------------------------------------

I am aware that G-Tax are good people, and I like their products, support them and have no gripe with them.

I have, and run and enjoy the RWA, Sacramento Northern, Stevens Pass, and Durango and Silverton - all great. And the BLE would have been nice too - it looks just as good which is why I got it. But at the end of the day, I realize also it is going to be hard for G-Trax to troubleshoot with me given all the variables and the fact it seems mainly unique to me. I also only have limited free time available. That's why it can rest as far as I am concerned. My choice and not their fault.

--------------------------------------------

Trevor - thank you for your suggestions. As part of trying to get this to work, I did previously uninstall and reinstall it. I also went further and also deinstalled TS - not an issue as I run a "clean" installation (as I also use the laptop for my work and needs to keep things fast and uncluttered in terms of the system and the number of things I am running).

I have tried a number of other scenarios from the BLE - they either freeze on starting or crash at some stage - always the same place if the scenario is re-run. Very odd. As I have mentioned before as well, I have other routes and have never had scenario issues like this with any of them. I have tried the lowest possible settings etc. and had someone around who is very clued up on TS. No joy. Spent in excess of 20 hours on it.

So, I have left it for the time being. It may be something odd in relation to my machine, so maybe one day when I upgrade, and if TS is still supported, it may run!

It could also be a clash with other software, but I cannot do anything about that as I use the software for work!

"Is it inappropriate on this forum to raise any comment about DTG if it is not positive?" I just thought the last sentence was a little more than needed to be said. Plenty of businesses are not as responsive as we as consumers think they should be. Like my ISP, phone company, insurance companies, lawyers, bankers..................need I go on? !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!
!!**sorry**!! if I annoyed you.

Thanks, Buzz. No need to apologize though.

Service issues are the one thing that gets right to me - and I don't really accept them. I am doing more about the issue I have, but that is not for this Forum as it involves me and them. If I was still in the UK I would have jumped on the train to Sterling quickly!

I just don't believe in tolerating poor service - i.e. someone somewhere is getting paid to ......do nothing?! And they are actually indirectly (if I am a customer) using my money to pay them?

What are the Consumer Protection Acts like in the USA? I know in the UK and South Africa they are very strong, though misunderstood. And they can be used very successfully for service issues as the latter is also what you buy (as per the service offerings) when you buy a product. The Acts in many cases also will mean that company disclaimers do not apply.

I think I must have been lucky though because by and large I generally get good service. I have always incidentally had very good service too from American companies in South Africa, UK, and the Internet. Maybe they use a different "external face" compared to US customers?

Off topic I know, but I was just intrigued by your comments.
