NS SD45 Too Small?

I picked up the DTM NS SD45 high-nose for $3.49 this morning. This set includes a cab view with engine stands facing in both directions, so definitely worth the money.

A scenario included with the engine has the SD45 paired with a default Kuju SD40. Looking at the two screenshots, I'm not sure if the SD45 is too small, the SD40 is too big, or the actual engines were so different in size.

The other screenshot is a cab view, showing the horn handle totally obscuring the brake gauge. While this is neither here nor there, I'm just curious how this presentation passed its' audition.

The kuju 40 is off scale. Same with many other DTG engines.

Agreed, the SD45 is more to scale. The SD-40 seems like a monster in the first screenshot.

I hadn't noticed this before, maybe I've mostly used the black SD-40 with other KUJU models.

The KUJU F7 has always seemed smaller, as compared to other locomotives. I'll try an F7 next to the DTM SD45, and see if they make sense.

The reality is we're now in the "Post-Truth" age so maybe what makes sense doesn't make sense.

I actually noticed that the GEVO being probably the proper scale did feel smaller than even the BNSF/BN SD40-2s, which is not Juju but still felt overscaled.

The KuJu SD40-2 model is scaled too large. The successive variations of it such as the SP & DRGW tunnel motors, and BN, NS HH, etc are as well. It drives me nuts because you really can't put a GP38-2 or SD45 next to them in a consist without the scale looking just silly.

Don't try to run G scale trains on an O scale layout gentlemen.

I do not use the SD 40-2's much on my route. I have run them in scenarios on other routes,of course.So I did not realize it was too large,until now. You can see in this shot the difference in height between the 45 and 40-2.

That SD40 seems to be scaled better.
