Does anyone know how to move a cab camera slightly to pull it forward?

Unread postby jpetersjr » Sun Dec 06, 2015 12:53 pm

Have something I'm working on and trying to figure out how to move the camera forward some to get it out of the back window of the highrail truck, does anyone know how to do this, or point me in the direction of a tutorial.

...Cheers...

Big J

I'd like to move my camera viewpoint forward some, will take a screenshot later.

In the cab camera xml, look for code similar to this:

<cameraOffset>
<cRVector3>
<X d:type="sFloat32">-1.000000</X>
<Y d:type="sFloat32">3.050000</Y>
<Z d:type="sFloat32">-5.500000</Z>
</cRVector3>
</cameraOffset>

X is side to side, Y is front to back and Z is up and down
To move the view forward, increase the number.
Same for window camera
watch out for minus signs. Very Important.
I'm pretty sure of all this, but you may need to experiment.

Also, how do I open the XML to edit it?

Well, tried this morning and it's not converting it no matter what I do. Is there another way to convert the file?

If the file is archived in a .ap file, you must first extract it. Use RW-Tools.

There is a camera re-positioning utility made by Claudio ... uh, Claudio ... Musa, perhaps? I've used it a few times, but it isn't exactly easy and, of course, all such modifications are going to vanish from DLC at least with the next cache verification. However, I'm pretty sure that Claudio's program included a quick recovery feature.
