Error occurred while updating (connection time out)

Unread postby mysterytrain » Wed Aug 20, 2014 8:32 pm

ok now this is happening. Every time I try to play the simulator, I repeatedly get a screen saying the game is "updating". It repeats this over and over and never stops - goes back to 0% after reaching 100%(updating).

Then when I try to play, I get a message saying an "error occurred while updating (connection time out).

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Any idea how I can fix it? Got screen shots below of what I'm getting.

Thanks,
Steve

Change your "Download region" in the "Downloads" settings of the Steam client.

That happened to me day before yesterday. Waited most of the day for the download to complete and got the time-out thingy. restarts and reloads didn't work. Yesterday I deleted all local game files and did the download and it worked. I don't know why. I couldn't get out of the update mode until I did the delete files.

That's exactly what I wound up having to do too Dave **!!bang!!**

I tried doing the steam "flush", verifying cache, changed download region, deleted all files except Steam apps and Steam .exe and none of that worked. !**conf**!

Oh well, at least I got it running again. !*salute*!
