Simple tasks appear as FAIL - Weird TS bug?

Unread postby Benedettini » Tue May 27, 2014 3:42 pm

Hello again fellers.

This time I am really annoyed after 1hr 30 minutes of driving to save on half way... In a mission I just wanted to check next tasks to do via F1, and I saw i had 2 crosses... that are "Go via ******** " ... Weird is that; how the fudge can such a task show as FAIL, whereas others do not?

And one of them was "Go via Kirkcowan 2" or such... It's a station that is just on my route, on my line, and there are no switches along the station!

As I have researched recently it seems as it is related to "save" ... But we guys use that save function incase crap happens, then we see the biggest crap there! !DUH!

That would seem to be a failure in the scenario.

Very often when I see this happen, it's a result of the "Go Via" instruction having the MPH field set to the track speed limit. This is very bad scenario practice because the instruction will show an error if the speed past the "Go Via" point is anything less than the track speed limit. Scenario designers should always program a go via at 1MPH so that the instruction will complete properly and not fail. I just had this happen on a scenario I ran on Marias Pass. I edited the scenario and, sure enough, the go via was set to 25MPH, the track speed limit. I changed it to 1MPH and the scenario ran correctly.
Like Buzz said, it's scenario related, I believe.
Hope this helps.
