Dynamic Brakes on CP RAIL ES44AC's cause game shut down

Unread postby HankySpanky » Thu Apr 24, 2014 8:37 pm

On the CP-RAIL GE ES44AC's (#9540, 8563, 9666) that I downloaded from Digi-Rails, I found that when the dynamic brakes are applied it causes the game to crash. Has this been reported in these forums? Does anyone else have this problem?
These are freeware and nicely done so I'm not complaining, just curious if there is a fix.

Not sure if this is causing your issue? But it looks like the simulation file is pointing to a NS 7506 folder. Here is the specific information I'm looking at, open your ES44AC Engine Simulation.bin found in the Simulation folder. Search for the tag <DynamicBrakesSystem>. Within that paragraph, try replacing the line:

<CsvFile d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\NS 7506\Simulation\DynamicBrakeEffortVsSpeed</CsvFile>

with the following line:

<CsvFile d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\CP-RAIL 8563\Simulation\DynamicBrakeEffortVsSpeed</CsvFile>

Remember to make a backup of the simulation file before making the above changes. See if that corrects the issue?

Rich S.

Thank You Rich - I owe you a cigar!
I changed the the NS 7506 in the line you provided to CP-RAIL 8563, CP-RAIL 9540, and CP-RAIL 9666 in the corresponding simulation files.
Works great. I love these engines. Jessie did a great job on them.
