Passenger Occulsion help

Unread postby SithMurcielago » Tue Feb 18, 2014 5:57 pm

I been for days now trying to figure out how to completely muffle out the sounds from the passenger view of the outside. I only manage to muffle out a bit but i can still here the generator from my P42DC Locomotive. What values do I need to change to drown out all the sounds from the outside except for the horn? Thanks in advance

I think nobody knows for sure what the values mean.
Well, actually this guy sounds like he knows but my head asploded trying to read his text. It's been a long day.

The point is, these are standard EAX parameters, not specific to Railworks, so you can search the web for things like "Occlusion LF ratio" for information about them. Keep us posted.

Being lazy, I'd say find the passenger cars that have an occlusion file, and try them in the game until you find one you like, then copy this file for your purposes.

Also obviously it only works if you are using EAX in the game.

Well weirdly enough I went into the TS2014 menu and activated the EFX in Sound Settings and that did something. It muffled the sounds in the Passenger view to where I can't hear any passing trains but I can still hear the Engine of my train a bit, but that setting did something.

Yes, that's what I said, it only works with hardware effects on.
