interior lights?

Unread postby PamBrooker » Wed Feb 05, 2014 10:33 pm

I've been noticing an issue with cabin interior lights on my loco's. I can turn on the lights and all the external lights work fine, but the gauges and cab are pitch black. Normally, i wouldnt notice but i just bought the donner pass route and theres a tunnel on there that seems to go on forever. with no interior lights, i've got no feedback at all and to say its disconcerting is an understatement. This happens on the GP-38s, dd-40x ( all three ), everything ive driven in the last few days. Is this normal??? is there a work around? I could use some understanding..
Thanks
Pam

The (Steam purchased) DDA40X should have working gauge and cab light switches on the switch panel by the selector.

Some of the locomotives have been updated to include cab and gauge lighting while many have not. All I can say is check the manual for the locomotive or the various switches in the cab to see if it has cab and/or gauge lighting.

The lighting in tunnels has changed overall and isn't isolated to just the Donner Pass route. Many of the currently offered RSC/DTG routes with tunnels have dark tunnels unless there is lighting in the tunnel. Unless I completely misunderstood what the issue is, I don't know of any workaround but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there. *!!wink!!*

The Donner Pass engines don't have gauge lighting Pam. On other engines the gauges are lit by default, or some like the SD75 as an example actually have a switch in the cab to turn on the gauge lights.
Still others are like the Donner ones, and have no gauge lighting at all.
I know which tunnel you are talking about. It's known on the railroad as the "Big Hole" and is just east of Norden.

::ROFLMAO:: heyyy I aint dead yet :;lol:;... The big hole huh?? yeahh it fits.. I know theres been a lot of grief over that route because this or that wasnt right, but i gotta admit: I'm a very casual player and i couldnt tell the difference between a switch and a signal half the time. I love the route.. I can get on it and drive for hours just listening to the engines humm.. I know ive gone in and edited things before: adding this, changing that, but the copd has taken too much away and i'm not able to do that any more.. Guess i'll just have to get acccustomed to there being a huge black tunnel somewhere..
Thanks Guys :) :)
Back to my own little route.. ::chuckles:: darned thing will probably never be finished..
