Missing particle emitters on the Challenger and BigBoy

Suddenly the Challenger and BigBoy are missing their secondary particle emitters. This has happened to me once before but I forget how I fixed it. This time it happened after I uninstalled and re-installed TS2013 in a desperate attempt to get the GP38 and Consolidation to work

I've tried the usual verifying the cache, deleting the folders, etc.

Hopefully, someone else has experienced this before and knows the fix.

Play with your in game graphic setting till you see it. Don't ask why. It just works sometimes. You may have to re start the game to see any changes.

Secondary particle emitters as in second of twin smokestacks?

Which Challenger and Big Boy? The older ones that were sold by IHH or the newer ones after RSC took over these IHH products?
Did you get them in the sale, like the combo pack, then they most likely are RSC's makeover.
Perhaps they removed the secondary emitters as they don't chuff. Only the primary smokestock is synchronised to the pistons, sort off. IHH's secondary smokestack just qualmed when the engine was standing and was shut off when it was above 5 MpH IIRC.

There used to be a couple of smokestack hacks floating in these forums. Perhaps some are left in the filestore.

Thanks for the replies. XDriver, you nailed it. Changed the graphics settings from highest to high and back again. That was the fix.
