NS SD40-2 HH

Unread postby gtw5812 » Wed Jul 10, 2013 3:59 pm

I have owned this locomotive since it came out. Today, I tried to play a scenario, and it would not work. I have checked my cache, and all is good. It shows in my collection, however, it show a blank locomotive in the scenario's. Is there someway to "updated" it?

Thanks,

Galen

Does it show up in your Collection page? Or is this on a specific route?

I just did a quick check, and mine is there, and working. I did get the steam update, otherwise I was going to suggest it had been "pulled",but that does not seem to be the case.

OK, let me see if I get this right. Your complaint was a little vague. You click on a route from the main page, then choose a scenario. Now, the left side pic should show an engine, but it's kind of a ghost image? I get that a lot, it seems to mean the engine isn't up to TS2013 standards. If I continue and run the scenario, the engine does show up in the scenario.

Maybe you can be a little more help when you say, "Tried a scenario, and it would not work".

Buzz, I reread the first post and he does say it shows in his collection. My bad.

It works fine for me, The best I can say is (if you haven't already.) Verify the Integrity of the Game Cache. If this doesn't work I would contact RSC with your problem.

Good Luck !*salute*!

Yes, it shows in the collection. It has a picture of the locomotive. Now, when I click a senario, It is a "ghost engine", with a outline of a european electric, and it won't work. I cheched the cache, and cleared it, and verifed it as well. It states I own it....any ideas?

Thanks

So once you have selected the scenario you want to run, what happens when you click "Go"? Nothing? SBHH? All my ghosts only show as a ghost on the scenario page, not in game. In game the engine or locomotive shows up and works.

I always thought that when a loco shows in the Scenarios Listing page it means that there exists an 256X128 image.PNG graphic of the Engine (like a Builders Photo) in the LocoInformation folder of that asset's Engine directory. If the tile has an Engine appearing in Outline Form as a ghost image (a European Loco outline that you are seeing), then the image.PNG file for that scenario's locomotive is missing. I have made many a Image.PNG "Builders Photo" from a screen shot and converted it to a 256x128 graphic in PS to provide for the missing pictures. I now have completely filled in the all the missing tiles on my Scenarios Listing Page.

BTW, many third party routes are also missing the Route.TgPcDx image...It should reside in the Route's Preload folder...that is required in order to paint the Route Picture Tile. The .TgPcDx file is called out in the RouteMetadata.bin file of the Preload directory for each Route. If that .BIN file is missing then you have to build one from scratch.
