I cannot read the banner anymore because it seems the font color changed to white. Is this just me or is anybody else seeing this?

Yes it is now white.
It is quite readable using the Prosilver special edition theme (in the board preferences tab in your profile).

that is what i use and still cannot read it because the background and font are white

It is grey for me also. I will get rid of the white next update which should be tomorrow after work.
