Some railroad shops were creative in building special purpose cars like this commissary/kitchen car.
Just an old Alaska guy trying to live in an insane world. Degree in life, Masters in common sense.

Could this have been Pullman's inspiration?

Gives new meaning to mobile catering. Note the stack has a stay wire so it might have been a folding model.

Oh boy, you opened Pandora’s Box with this one…..LOL.
How can you possibly have a proper logging camp without mobile campground cars? I mean the crews gotta sleep and eat somewhere, right? Little log cabins and tents just don’t capture the need.

Not keen on the Dog hutches but better than a tent I suppose.

Edit: Truly mobile homes, I guess they didn't come with steam heating provided by the engine - too revolutionary? or would make it harder to get out of the bunk to do some work?
