MP15DC overhaul

Due to some helpful feed back the MP15 has been heavily updated.

1) The radiator has been re-mapped
2) All the controls in the cab can be operated by the mouse (or rat depending on the railroad)

Even the radio and the three available channels can be switchen on and off.
Use the on\off switch and the 1, 2 and 3 on the radio key pad.

Can you hear it? It is tuned to an emergency on the CP !*don-know!*

If you like opening the side windows to let some cool air in, even they can be pushed open now rather than just using the U key as with my other models.

Dick

ps If I missed contacting you and you already have this loco. download it again to get all the updates.

Wait, maybe you'd like it in this livery better...

The remap did the trick! It worked out fine, thanks.

That's gorgeous Mike, looks like I will spend more time driving trains tonight than finishing up my PS1 repaint *!embar*!

Have to ask, any way to move the number board above the cab?

That will mean a new model. It is possible but at the moment I am stretching it into an MP15AC and then possibly shrink it into my own version of the SW1500 !*YAAA*!

Dick, it would be great if you could eventually get around to allowing that for the DC.

SP had the AC versions as well:

Can't wait for your next model.

I have a lot of detail stuff to do yet... what yard do you want this one homed in? I was considering San B, But Klamath Falls would work too. I'll Probably get it out late tonight, with the WP boxcar and the CN GP7.

Good question. Too bad there isn't a way to configure this in game. My route is mainly based around the bay area. I have personally seen "Bay Area" and "Roseville". You also have to consider that a lot of their motive power did not have their home listed.

Is this the SP fan club??
If I do make an SP specific engine *!!wink!!*
1) what are all the lights on the front for?
2) do the have a similar array on the back?
3) Is each loco assigned to a yard and is the name on the engine? If it is in more or less the same position I can make it editable using the same system I use on my steam locos.

Thes are just questions though!!!! Road specific engines is still an IF !*YAAA*!

You can abuse the auto-number system for all sorts of runtime-decided markings.

If you are directing that question to me..... YES! !*YAAA*!
KCJones wrote:If I do make an SP specific engine *!!wink!!*

For when it goes backwards! *!lol!*
OK, many of the SP engines (not just switchers, SD45's had them too) had a red light added to the front and rear light arrays. My understanding is that they were used just like the end of train light is used today. I will see if I can dig up some more specific information.
KCJones wrote:2) do the have a similar array on the back?

yes
KCJones wrote:3) Is each loco assigned to a yard and is the name on the engine? If it is in more or less the same position I can make it editable using the same system I use on my steam locos.

Depends. Not all engines had their home painted on them.

I will take any enhancements you add to your models!!! I really didn't mean to open a can of worms. I was really interested in the number boards over the cab as an option since I know that SP and other roads had them that way. I also didn't say anything about the ditch lights, which were not used on any of the SP MP15's.

Wikipedia to the rescue!

Southern Pacific road switcher diesels were well-known by railfans for several distinct features beyond their paint schemes. The units often featured elaborate lighting clusters, both front and rear, which featured a large red Mars Light for emergency signaling, and often two sets of twin sealed-beam headlamps, one on top of the cab between the number boards, and the other below the Mars Light on the locomotive's nose.

Uh-oh...

Still looking into it, but if any has any ideas chime in...

Update: I looked at the MP15d-01.TgPcDx in RW_Tools and it looks fine. I am not sure what is wrong.
