NOW AVAILABLE USRA MIKADO

The Mikado is now available. All new bell and whistle, new cab (well newish!!!!! *!embar*! ) Steam coming out of all orifices ( when the right buttons are pushed) Watch the stack when you open the fire door (f key). I have got it right this time (I think), not like MSTS where it is back to front. Four variations of the loco and all the files needed to produce your own road name.

Please read the included pdf file to get the hang of how to name and number the loco and tender. I plan to use the same method on future steam locomotives. It looks complicated but is easy when you know how!! !*YAAA*!

Mr. Cowen,

Awesome work !*cheers*! . I look forward to a run with one of these on the head end of a freight or coal drag.

I need help with the road name and numbering. I want it to be New York Central 1889, and I figured out the loco numbering should be 1889xxxxg1889 and the tender should be xxxx1889hxxxx, but I don't know what comes next - where do I enter these strings?

I really love the loco - it was my first choice of all the engines I wanted for Railworks and it's a beautiful job.

If you click on the engine once it is in the editor, (I find it takes some clicking!!!!!) a box will appear on the right with a space for the numbers. Follow the same proceedure with the tender.

NYC 1889.jpg

Almost there, but how do I eliminate the extra color areas on the sandbox and tender?

Never mind - I goofed - I put in spaces instead of x's. With x's in the string as you specified, it works and I have a great loco.

Is it very difficult to change the lettering font? I am not asking you to do it, just point me in the right direction if it's not too hard. The NYC used a very different font.

If you follow the instrutions in the pdf file on re-lettering you should be OK. I will put together a pack for altering the numbers too in the next day or so.

Just wanted to drop in and say I really like the Light Mikado I purchased. Took it for a quick spin this morning and it is great stuff. Makes me want the rest now. *!lol!*

If you aren't a diesel person, your locos are the only reasons to fire up Railworks.

Love them

To be honest Dick. I was gun shy about buying another steamer from you. You never hid the fact these are MSTS conversions (some or all?) and my first purchase was the little UP switcher and just honestly wasn't meeting my expectations. Win, some, ya lose some. :) Grabbed the GG1, and liked it (just no proper place to really run it *yet*), then your E-Unit, and liked that also.

So, after sitting on it, and seeing screenshot and screenshot of your recent steamers decided to try steam again. Much better appearance and model then what I saw in the UP Switcher. Gonna have a go at repainting probably also and (try to) do a fake a PRR locomotive. :D
