GP-7 & GP-9 Repaints.....

Unread postby gtw5812 » Mon Jan 13, 2020 11:15 am

Just curious, with all the great New England content that you have, have you ever thought about doing the Central Vermont, Grand Trunk, and Grand Trunk Western geeps? You basically have the Units with the GN power.... Just a thought.

Best Regards,
Galen

Hi,

Thanks for the pictures. I don't think I'll get around to doing those if I'm honest. There are several other wishes and ideas on my list that I give higher priority (and still don't get around to doing, ugh!

That being said, repaint kits are available. And trust me when I say that repainting my Geep is almost as easy as repainting a boxcar.

Cheers

Me being lazy are any of the Jeeps done with the distinctive bell on the nose? If we had that I might be willing to do one or two of these?

I think the NYC and PC GP9 packs have engines with bells mounted on the end of the long hood, but not the exact same style as GTW/CV have in the images above.

Check the GN Geeps. The dynamic brakes equipped GP9 there has a bell on the end of the long hood that looks similar to the ones on the pictures above. That might work for the two green CV units. I don't think I any of my engines has the correct assembly of roof components for either the black passenger CV loco or the blue GT unit (though for the latter on NorfolkNE's hint regarding the NYC/PC units might work if you don't mind the different bell holder).

Cheers

The GN Geeps would be the best choice....the bell is the closest
