GP7 EL Pack Engines do not render in TS2021

Unread postby petersde537 » Thu Mar 11, 2021 6:59 pm

Have a problem with the GP7 EL Pack: in Build mode the engines can be added to a scenario and appear "normal"; however, when scenario is saved, the only visible components are the couplers, no hood, etc. Straight out of the RWP (dated 12/12/2019) install, no modifications to either the bin or GeoPcDx files for any of the paint schemes. Thanks for any assistance.

Oh no! That bug rears its ugly head again. **!!bang!!**

I'm afraid this is a bit of a known issue on the EL Geeps though it doesn't seem to affect everybody. My best guess is that there's a cross-reference hidden somewhere among the files that links to one of my other Geep packs, which causes this issue when those other Geeps aren't installed.

Do you have any of the other Geep packs installed? Could you give that a try if you don't? Especially the GN pack would be of interest.

Cheers,
Michael

Edit, PS: also, please double check that you've activated the "Kuju\RailsimulatorUS" assets filter in the scenario. It's needed for the sounds.

Running the game with Logmate might provide clues.

Thanks Chacal, I keep forgetting about Logmate even though I have it set to start with the 32bit exe. **!!bang!!**

This bug seems to be fixed now, finally. But it wasn't me who solved the mystery: Wayne Campbell has figured out where the bad references where hiding and kindly shared his findings with me. Thank you very much, Wayne!
*!!thnx!!*

Here is the download link for the patch. This is only needed if you do NOT have the GN Geeps installed

Awesome! Glad I checked the forum before checking all the EL files for the "missing" references. As usual, Wayne Campbell is a juggernaut. **!!bow!!** All is operational now. No free lunches in TS.

Sorry for resurrecting the thread, but the issue might (or might not) be relevant to the above. I downloaded the GN and PC Geeps and TS Utilities complained about zero byte files. Tried to manually unzip the rwp files and WinRAR gave me a Corrupt File warning. Downloaded them a second time, no change. In the end I pressed on with the installation anyway, and neither Geep renders in the editor (while they show up in the list).

Greetings,
Miltos
