Hi,
I have released a small update for all of my GP and SD engines which changes the brake settings.
You can download it here:
http://golden-age-rails.com/freerw/rail ... on-Fix.zip
This will affect the brakes on all GP and SD engines once installed and should also cover repaints.
In short, it brings the apply and release rate settings and a few other parameters in line with those on comparable DTG locomotives. This eliminates a set of experimentally tweaked brake parameters that were in use before. Somebody (I forgot who) suggested those to me long ago as being more realistic. I have no way to know if that's true and I like the DTG brakes better (and grew tired of the complaints from others about the brakes, LOL).
The update does NOT change the brake valve, it is still a non-self lapping brake on all of these engines so you still have to go to APPLY, hold it it there until the desired brake pressure has been reached, and then put the handle into LAP to hold the pressure. You can control the speed of the brake pipe reduction by how deep into the Apply zone you push the lever (not sure if that's realistic behaviour, it's just how this control type works in RW).
Cheers
Michael
