Cast wing culverts, UP and BNSF style

Has anyone considered doing a model of these? They are basically a square cast pipe under the track. They have a tapered apron, and angled wings to keep water from eroding the grade fill. I have seen them from about 3 feet (1M) square at the smallest, and in sizes up to large enough for a medium size truck to pass through. I am working on a short line in our area, and they use these in several places. Thanks, MM

Very much like I meant. The look is right, the trays and wings look good. The style I'm referring to has the tops a 3 feet (1M) or more below the ballast and are embedded in the fill. It's simply a cast square culvert with wings and aprons on the ends. I'll look and see if I can find a picture link.

Also it would be nice to have this without guard rails. Around here they are used without them and putting in traffic type guard rails. I would use them where it would be placed two or three below the surface.

Success! This one is under a highway, but is exactly what I'm trying to describe. It wouldn't have to go under the roadbed entirely, but would need to be deep enough to create the illusion that it does.

Very nice! Exactly what I needed. Now if you would be so kind as to make it available in the download section... :D

Thanks, MM

I could probably whip a batch of these in a few afternoons of modeling. They are actually pretty simple models to create. Made from four shapes and two textures. I'll get back to you when I have finished a few.

John
