Some objects invisible in RW coming from SketchUp

Hey guys:

I am finding something odd that happens from time to time and it is a real time waster. I am using SketchUp Pro to make models and then send to 3DC 9. I have made several buildings and smaller objects and had no issues. I have found over the past few weeks though that some of the more complex stuff always ends up invisible in RW, thus garbage and off to the recycle bin. I wondered if the textures were the problem but then when I use the same texture on a simple box, boom, into the sim with no problem. I wondered if SketchUp was the issue so I made the same shape in 3DC and you guessed it, invisible in the sim. I most often use size to fit when texturing in 3DC so I do not think it is an issue with cropping or use the tile feature within 3DC. It seems to be a problem with round objects, small objects like light poles and anything with arches. Has anyone else seen this or is my PC about ready to go the way of old yeller.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Take care

Doug

The only time I had this happen was when I mixed up my shader and alpha layers. I made an "invisible" object. Which came in handy when I wanted it to appear in the winter and disappear in the summer.

What shaders are you using in your material properties Rail Sim slot?

Hey thanks for offering up something. This is odd. I just did the same thing again and it went into the sim with no problems. I wonder if something maybe wrong with my system. I can not find a fault with any of the textures nor can a pinpoint an issue with SketchUp. I will see if I can get a screen shot up later today of the object that was causing a problem. I set my difuse when I started building and ahve never changed it. I will play with the shaders the next time this happens and see if that has a more dependable result.

Strange for sure,

Thanks again
