You need a "particle" thing that gives off smoke, and I'm sorry to say I'm not sure if they come with the game or an add-on. But any minute now someone should be coming along to tell you everything you need to know.... Any minute now....

There are default smoke particles stock with railworks. Both heavy and medium density smoke.

Is there a way to connect this with your building before actually releasing it to the community so it comes default with that building when you place it.

I think this would also make my buildings and houses look more interesting, especially when that building or house has a chimney.

I am very much interested in how to do this myself.

You need to add the emitter as a child object to the model. You can do this by adding to the Children section of the BIN. I am not in front of my rig at home so I can write up an example, but if you look at how the lights are added to the SD40, or at MadMike's GP38 lighting update you will see how it was done

JP since you have the ISG files for your work you may want to try to add the emitter as a child in the asset editor for your houses, it should allow you to position it in the preview window. Otherwise I suspect that its going to be trial and error.
