Modern Coal Mine Models

Hello all. I am wondering if there is anyone working on some more modern coal mine models such as the ones that are used in the Power River Basin area of Wyoming. Or better yet, is anyone that is savvy with the 3D creation thing up for that challenge. I wish I had the time to sit down and figure out how to use one of these programs so I could start creating my own stuff, but unfortunately I don't, at least right now. Thanks you all. I hope the answer is yes.

I might be able to build some, since I am a scenery modeler, but I'll need some reference photo's to follow by, if you can get some.
