Amabilis / 3DCrafter Support

Unread postby cnwfan » Tue Aug 23, 2011 11:59 am

Hello Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me here. I recently purchased 3DCrafter Pro, and have been unable to get it running. I keep error #91 at startup, and it then shuts downs.

Anyways, I have been trying to get some support out of Amabilis, and they have yet to respond (2 postings through their technical forum that haven't even been posted). Has anyone else run into either of these issues? I've been going through the Amabilis forum looking for answers that match my situation, but haven't had any luck.

Also, is there another way of getting in touch with them... maybe a support email address? Anything would be appreciated at this point. Thank you for your help.

Howard

Take a screenshot for me, if it's the same error I got here's how to fix it, don't install it in Program Files(86), direct it to install in the regular Program Files directory. Program Files (86) seems to mess with Crafter a lot, ever since I
re-installed it in the regular Program Files directory I haven't had any problem, perhaps this might also fix your problem.

Sincerely jpetersjr

Hope this helps.

Hello Hawk / jpetersjr,

Thank you for responding so quickly. I will get a screen shot tonight of the error message and post here. As a point of reference, I am running 32 bit WinXP Pro on a Pentium 4 machine, with an ATI video card. I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling v9.1, along with uninstalling 9.1 and installing v8. All resulted in the same error message. I was able to get v9.1 running on my work laptop (also 32 bit WinXP Pro) without any problems. Also, the error message appears before the splash screen is displayed.

I will look into your suggestions. Hopefully I can get this program running. Thank you again for your help.

Usually this happens from having it installed in the wrong place. This is what I was getting until I installed it in the regular Program Files, that's what a person at 3D Crafter Support had told me, try to uninstall it, and re-download it, re-install it, but this time change the path and direct it to some other place other then Program Files(86), I use the regular Program Files.

JP the 'Program Files (x86)' folder only exists on 64bit OSs.

cnwfan mentioned that he is running on: "32 bit WinXP Pro on a Pentium 4 machine".
