California Style Homes

Tips and discussion about scenery creation for RailWorks.

California Style Homes

Unread postby Trainguy76 » Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:43 pm

Hiya,

I wanted to make houses to add variety (you know those five default US houses) to the route I want to make, so I made a goal of making a finished house every two days. The first day is the model, and the second day is the textures and export to RailWorks and this continues in series until I'm satisfied.

Here is the first house model.

I have another house I'll soon add to the game after I work out some problems with it. A simple urban shack really, often seen downtown.

If I may suggest, some modern townhouses? It seemed to be the rage during the housing boom.

Perhaps this will help, these are often still seen in cities today, there are tons of these where I live.

It's not much, but it's certainly more then nothing. If you want I'll build some more houses like this and you can use them on your route as well.

I will try making some, last time I tried though I wasn't as successful as I wanted, but I shall try again.

If you are unable to make it again I'll be willing to try my hand at it.

Sincerely jpetersjr

Until then though I will continue on my downtown assets.

Boxcar is getting painted (ETA is whenever the person painting it finishes), and I am working on the SD70M right now, the texture map (the reason it was delayed) will be a lot better than it was before.

Believe me, I have spent too much time to let the SD70M become vapourware.

The topic changed to Trainguy's box car and SD70M. We are both learning a lot from our experience with the box car, and it will help make the SD70M when it comes to repaiting that bad boy !*YAAA*!
