Wheel stops

Unread postby thecanadianrail » Wed Jul 13, 2011 3:03 pm

I think we need some of these wheel stops in RW. i see similar stoppers here, those larger bumpers we currently have are only for mainline trackage, these are what you would see on branch lines or industrial spurs.

I'll see if I can put one together. Though they would have to be set on the track manually, but luckily I do know what to do to make it where it would stop the train.

Here's a little progress on your request item. Next time you see it it will be complete and in game.

First I will need the measurements for what size it should be spaced at and how high up it should be so it can set on the track.

Also, I need to find out how to make the blueprint to make it a track object and sit on the track.

Here are some companies that sell them. Pages have various types and spec's:

The photo of the prototype seems to be the Model 430F. Only exception is it's center is cut out, guess to save weight.

Neat item that I've been meaning to do for a while, so I threw this one together this afternoon:

The one in the above photo was too clean for my tastes, so I scratched it up a bit. :D

It still needs tweaking, LODs, and I haven't yet tested to see if the collision properties work. It's currently a separate object, so you don't need ScaleRail to use it. However, I'll eventually add it to the ScaleRail packages as well as make it available on its own. If Ed likes, he can host it here too.
Cheers!

so when can we expect that one? possibly even some varying models of them, such as one without the holes and panted yellow? (like we have here?) oh mark, i also have another question that is related to the topic, but it is about your scalerail, what do the derail turnout thingys look like? i am wondering because i think i might finally mess around with trackrules and have other types of switches on my routes, (or possibly you could make a whole bunch of track rules avalable that each seperate one uses a different type of switchstand? [please please please it will save alot of people time!])

These are simple objects which can be used on any track. As soon as I can get the chance I'll upload the files.
