A delicate balance.

Hello. It's me.
So, when I did my Thurmont and Branford route, it was fairly small, so I didn't have to worry about scenery dropping the frames down to a very low level.
Now that I am making a longer route, though, I am having trouble finding the balance between length and scenery.
I have a pretty beefy computer, so I don't know how the route will react to people with lower specs than me.
Anybody have any input they can tell me? Thanks.

Frame rates are more about how many objects are on a tile than the total size of the route. The game only loads scenery for the tile you are on plus the next one more or less which is why we see a stutter some times when we go from one tile to another. The total size of the route is irrelevant, density of nearby objects is what it's all about and the size of them. If you look down at the lower left when you are world editor mode it shows you the tile you are on and the number of assets on that tile.
As far as we have been able to determine there is no "too big" for a route to run. It just takes longer to load. When we were building the Lafayette we tried to stay below a thousand objects per tile but minerman has proven you can have a lot more and get away with it if they are the right objects. Of course this depends on the computer.

Thanks, Buzz! That makes a lot more sense of why I go to a different tile and then the scenery appears. I'll worry a bit less now as I continue to build.
