Steps and stairs

Hi. Steps or stairs. Has anyone seen any in their travels? Steps or stairs of any shape, size, angle, or style. My 3DCanvas skills aren't quite there yet to make my own. Steps.. Steps. Stairs. Steps. :) The reason I bring up.. You guessed it... Steps or stairs. Is because when I've edited routes, tried building, or currently building a route there have been countless times where I could have used a set of steps or stairs. Currently you have two options. Make things only accessible by really tall people and primates, or make ramps.
Thanks.. Steps. Stairs.

If you open 3DC and go to
'Tools/ Use Plugin/Object Builder' you should see
'stepmaker' at the bottom of the list. If not you may need to download and install the 7.1.2+ plugin found at Paul's web site:
http://www31.brinkster.com/decapod/Just click on the link in the left nav bar that says
'3D Canvas Downloads'.
Once you have the stepmaker plugin installed, the attached spread-sheet may help out some.

Wow. I should explore 3DCanvas more huh?

Thanks Ed I'll give this a look!
I have fooled around enough to get whatever it is I create and texture into Railworks so this may be the easy way to get the steps I want.
Thanks again!

It works pretty good and makes stepmaking a whole lot easier.
Just remember, if you create steps with stepmaker, you have to go to X-0, Z-0 corner of the palette to find them (same corner as the Point Light).

Here is a set of stairs I made, without assistance from the Stepmaker plug-in. Once I mastered the Duplication feature (thanks to the Modeling Classes featured on this website), making steps is a breeze.

Hi SMM, will you be making that asset available anytime soon. The route I am working on has a fair amount of liquid loading and I have been looking for something like that.
Are you planning on releasing your route anytime soon. Just curious and asking, and being a little nosey.

I've thought about making it available, but really it's just a simple platform with not much to it. Probably could be much more detailed.
The first section of my route is far from being ready for release, as I keep having to sidetrack to make assets. I'm trying to use as much default as possible, but track-side industries are being custom made, and since it is the downtown area of a major city, there are a lot of assets to be made. Plus, I just had to switch versions of 3DCanvas because of export problems, so learning the old version of the program is slowing me down as well.
