I have no idea why I'm doing this seeing as how I like modern stuff... buuuut.....

Initial concept and size check. Building is a bit large, maybe it needs a garage door on the side? Excuse the brightness as the model won't have a shadow map until it's completed. My goal is to try and match the black and white photo. I'm torn between using a visible gas pump or stick with what I have...

Any specific brand gas you want? Or do you want it to be fictional? And no jokes about the modern vehicles at an old station!! *!rolleyes!*

Oh, and one other thing, excuse my lack of age, I've never seen an old gas pump. What's on the backside of the pump I have modeled? Is it blank or is it the same thing on both sides?? Any help would be appreciated.

I think it's a fantastic start! Of course, needs a front door and windows, maybe side windows, not necessarily a garage door. Could just be a convenience store. How hard is it to put the gas pumps on a concrete island?

It's getting there... still more work to be done. Still need to fix a lot of the texture mapping.

Good work. Looks like alot of the rural stations here in the South. What program did you use to create the model?

I just looked over the old black and white photo and silly me, the chimney is on the backside of the building *!lol!* I'll fix that and put the whole chimney where it should be...

As for the gas pump, I'll probably swap it out with the visible gas pump style you posted. Or maybe I'll keep that one and move it to the center like this station and add two or three visible gas pumps. After work I'll do a lot more and hopefully get most of it done tonight.

Thanks, I use Photoshop for the texture work and 3D Studio Max 8 for the modelling.

I can actually remember when gas was about 25 cents a gal.

It's a good sign when you can still remember things like that... guess you haven't lost your mind yet *!!wink!!*

I think I'm done as far as building out the model, any more and I'm over doing it. Just need to finalize the textures on the roof, correct a few textures on the signs and then begin working on the night mode.
